We're thrilled to officially introduce ourselves - for those who haven't met us yet - and share a bit of our journey. We are the Currle family, and we are proud to own and operate Lonnie's Automotive and serve the Ormond Beach community! While we are still relatively new to Ormond Beach, our roots in automotive repair run deep - spanning generations and stretching back to the busy streets of Fairfax, Virginia.
The Beginnings
Our family's journey in the automotive world began over five decades ago, when Kenny started working at a repair facility while in high school. From sweeping floors, to changing oil, and eventually becoming the head mechanic, Kenny’s talent, work ethic and friendly demeanor won him dozens of loyal customers. In the 1990’s Kenny and his wife Cindy opened their first service station in the heart of Falls Church, Virginia. Their reputation for honest work, meticulous repairs, and serving the community led them to become one of the city’s most celebrated small businesses.
Kenny and Cindy’s sons, Chris and Kasey, have been working alongside their parents since their teenage years. Growing up amidst the hum of engines and the scent of oil and learning from the best instilled in them a profound respect for the craft and communities they serve. Over the years, our family proudly came to own multiple successful service repair shops across Northern Virginia, serving countless families and businesses.
Goodbye Virginia and Hello Florida!
After years of dedication and building that legacy, our family made the exciting decision to bring our passion, expertise, and time-tested values to our beloved new home here in Florida. We officially planted our roots in Ormond Beach in 2022, when we had the distinct honor of purchasing Lonnie’s Automotive from Lonnie Rittenour.
Since then, we have been striving to build on Lonnie’s nearly 50 years of success and provide the Ormond Beach Community with exceptional automotive repair service. We believe that getting your car repaired or maintained shouldn't be a source of stress, but rather a straightforward and trustworthy experience – just as it was for Lonnie's customers, and for ours in Virginia.
